International Studio for Body Painting (2019)
The human body is a canvas.
Since 2019, this unique studio has celebrated movement, color, and living art through the ephemeral beauty of body painting.
Initiated in 2019 by Jana Janeska Risteski, the International Studio for Body Painting is a pioneering space — the first of its kind in North Macedonia and one of the few internationally recognized ateliers dedicated solely to this vibrant and performative art form.
Launched as part of the “So Marko na Ulica” Festival, this studio elevates the human body into a canvas of meaning, motion, and transformation. Artists work with skin, space, and time to create works that are not static, but breathe, move, and interact with audiences.
Combining disciplines such as painting, performance, costume, and photography, the studio invites artists and spectators into a new dimension of expression — one where art lives, evolves, and disappears. In doing so, it challenges conventional boundaries of material and media.
With a clear vision for growth, the International Studio for Body Painting is set to become an integral part of CSLU – Prilep’s creative laboratories, adding dynamic color to its legacy of experimentation and innovation.
