On March 31st, 2018, the Center for Contemporary Visual Arts – Prilep (CSLU-Prilep), in collaboration with Marili Agency, organized a humanitarian art auction as part of the national event “DAMA-DA – Health and Beauty in Service of the Modern Woman.” Held at Hotel Holiday Inn – Skopje, the event celebrated women, art, and humanity in one powerful gesture of cultural solidarity.
Curated by Jana Janeska Risteski, president of the Art Council of CSLU-Prilep, the auction presented six original artworks by acclaimed women painters from Macedonia, Serbia, Russia, and Australia. Each piece carried a strong emotional and artistic narrative, aiming to bring inspiration, empowerment, and beauty into the homes of the supporters. The auction proceeds were donated to the Public Health Center – Prilep, underscoring the social responsibility embedded in artistic creation.
This project reaffirmed CSLU-Prilep’s mission not only to cultivate visual arts, but to mobilize its cultural resources for meaningful societal impact. It also positioned the institution and its members as proactive contributors to humanitarian causes, showing once again that art has the power to heal, connect, and transform.
